Factors that causes the appearance of dark circles and bags under the eyes
Often, bags under the eyes is a hereditary condition. Also, dark circles tend to worsen with age because the skin becomes thinner and loses subcutaneous fat. This leads to exposure of blood vessels just below the skin.

Potatoes have natural bleaching properties that can help illuminate dark circles. They can also help remove puffiness around the eyes. Hold two potatoes in the refrigerator for one hour. Clean the potatoes and grate them to extract the juice from them. Soak a cotton pad in potato juice and apply around the eyes by dabbing, before going to bed. Leave to act overnight and in the morning wash your face with warm water. Repeat the process for a week or more, to eliminate dark circles and bags under the eyes.
Cucumbers have cooling and astringent properties and therefore is widely used to treat dark circles. They can lighten the skin, stimulate blood flow and reduce swelling. Cut a cucumber into thick slices and chill them in a refrigerator. Place a cold slice of cucumber over each eye for 10-15 minutes. Then wash the area with warm water. Do this twice a day for at least a week to start noticing the changes.
